Death penalty opponents from Death Penalty Focus, California People of Faith Working Against the Death Penalty, and Amnesty International USA will embark on a 800 mile Walk to Stop Executions on September 15, 2007. The purpose of the walk is to draw attention to the issue of the death penalty, unite local activists, and to encourage the district attorney in every county along the walk route not to seek the death penalty in any case.

Friday, Nov. 30 - We will gather at 10:45am at River Walk Park (next to the Pyramid building) at the corner of G and 3rd Streets in West Sacramento. We will walk 2 miles to the Attorney General’s office at 1300 I St. in downtown Sacramento for a noon rally and reception. Speakers include: Aba Gayle (whose daughter was murdered),Greg Wilhoit (released from death row after being found innocent), and Bill Babbitt (whose brother Manny Babbitt was executed in 1999).
